CALGARY BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHER - www.boudoir-meaganpaige.com
For 2021, I am really focusing on improving my Boudoir Photography business. If you didnt already know, I have been doing boudoir photography for the last two years every once in awhile and I honestly really love it. That is why in this year I want to focus more on getting more boudoir bookings because I love how empowered women feel after their session.
PLUS, Valentine's Day is going to be here before you know it and who knows what the restrictions will be by then. Romantic dinners out may not be a option, no movie dates, or mini golf, so what can you do for your significant other to make Valentine's Day special? You can book a boudoir session and then put the photos in a photo album or even a little black box!!
Now before you panic and think well I have never done a boudoir session before, I have no idea what to expect. That is not a problem, in this blog I am going to answer the questions I get all the time to put your mind at ease and make booking a boudoir session exciting rather that nerve-wracking.
1. "BUT WHAT WOULD I WEAR?"
No need to panic like the grinch! When you book a session with me, deciding outfits is a piece of cake. I have a GREAT OUTFIT guide that tells you everything you need to know to flatter your body type and give you some fun ideas you may have not thought about before. However, If you rather get some ideas before you even contact me to book a session, I have written a whole blog with just a couple ideas for you. Now of course my What to wear guide I send to my clients has more options than this but this blog will at least give you a general idea of the options.
2. I need to lose 10 pounds first
I can totally relate to this excuse because I always think that when I plan to get photos done. This year I need to get save the date photos and engagement photos done with my fiancé and all I can think about is how I need to be this weight before one session and then close to my goal weight for the next session. But then I stopped myself and thought about it. You are paying your photographer because they know what they are doing. They know how to pose you in flattering ways and if you have a problem area that you don't love right now, just let your photographer know that and they can be aware of it when it comes to posing. If you keep using the excuse you need to lose weight, you will never get photos done. We are always trying to better ourselves and even if we reach that goal weight there is going to be another thing we want to work on to improve our healthy and body so don't skip over all these precious moments because the scale isn't where you want it to be.
3. Why do a boudoir session?
I know so many girls think "well do I need to do a boudoir session, I mean should I spend that money on myself?" and honestly the list to do a boudoir session is endless but let me give you a couple reasons right now!
1. Self empowerment
Majority of the time when my client's see their photos, they say "OH DAMN, that's me??!?!" YES GIRL IT IS YOU!!! The whole reason why I love doing boudoir photography is because it really makes you see yourself in a whole new light. It is a good first step when it comes to loving your body the way it is.
2. BEST GIFT EVER!!!
With covid and everything right now, most the stores are out of stock in a lot of things and even if you order it online it takes forever to get here. Plus you never know if your loved one is going to like it. Well that is something you don't need to worry about when it comes to a boudoir session. Your significant other loves you and they are going to LOVE seeing you feel sexy and confident in these photos.
3. Make it a YOU Day!
Forget work, responsibilities, chores and make it a day for yourself. When makeup artists and hairstylists can open again, go get your hair and makeup done. Browse your closet and have fun choosing your outfits for the day. After your boudoir session, you can even plan to do a little spa day for yourself and get some face masks and some hair treatments that you can do while you relax in a bubble bath. This day is all about you so make sure you plan to do all the things you love.
The list goes on and on but I can tell you one thing, you won't regret it!
4. What do I do with the photos?
I have a number of products that I offer which are all great options when it comes to printing your photos. You can see them here:
Most of my clients go with a photo book to put the photos in but the ideas of what you can do with them are endless. You can print them on canvases and display them above your bed. You can get a black box and fill it with your printed photos so your loved one gets the fun of constantly taking more and more photos out of the box while they look at them. You could do that painting trend you see on tiktok where you paint your butt and the back of your legs and sit on a canvas to make that sexy imprint and then on the inside of the canvas, you could glue your photos on to it, so its a secret spot that only you and your loved one knows about. Others will just think its fun art but on the side facing the wall there is really so much more. You could also just simply put them on a USB so your loved one can plug it into their computer whenever they want. The ideas are endless, you just have to find one you like best.
